Roch House Preparatory School is currently home to over 70 pupils from the age of three to eleven. Pupils may join the Department after their 3rd birthday, initially on a part-time basis. Girls are able and welcome to join all age groups throughout the year when there are places available in their year group. Boys aged between 3 and 8 (Kindergarten to year 3) will be admitted from September 2009 with full admittance to the junior school being phased in over the next three years.

We offer a very broad and well-balanced education which includes an extensive ‘Enrichment’ programme.

Classes are small and we are proud of our ‘family atmosphere’ in which our youngest pupils mix freely with our oldest pupils in Y6. We also have the added advantage of our own dedicated Sixth Form Prefects and a caring Pastoral team. We have opportunities for before and after school care and this is all included in the fee structure.

Every day is a special day in Roch House and we also have many ‘extra-special’ events and occasions during the year. A varied programme of interesting educational visits supports the curriculum, including outside visitors coming into school to work with the pupils.

Each pupil is allocated to a House, of which there are four and there are many House events. House points are awarded for personal achievement either academically or socially and pupils receive certificates at various levels of points awarded. There is also a House Merit Cup which is awarded on a termly basis to the House with the most points overall.

We have a Roch House Forum where each form has representatives who have regular meetings to present ideas and make suggestions for improving daily routine.

Our girls and boys are happy children who achieve well at all levels of ability. They are busy and active from the moment they arrive until they go home. Boarding is becoming increasingly popular too, with the introduction of flexi-boarding. Girls from Y3 and above regularly take advantage of this facility and also sometimes become weekly or full boarders. Three ‘taster’ nights of boarding are included in the fees for the year. Boarding for boys will be introduced from Summer term 2010.

Roch House holds a very special place within the whole school and lies very much at its heart and future!
